The charity fundraising helps to improve facilities on Histon & Impington Recreation Ground, develops sporting and community activities including those for older residents on the Recreation Ground.

Race registration
REGISTRATIONS WILL OPEN 1st June
All runners must register at the Registration desks in the race headquarters at Histon & Impington Recreation Ground Centre to collect their race numbers with embedded timing chips from the registration team from 8.30am to 10.05am.
Please go to the appropriate registration desk dealing with your start time. Race numbers will be filed numerically.
Race numbers should be pinned on the front of each runner to ensure your time can be recorded at the finish. Safety pins will be provided. Please allow sufficient time before the race start to collect your number.

Race start
The race start will take place in Station Road, Histon which is 350 metres from Histon & Impington Recreation Ground and reached by using the pedestrian crossing on the B1049. Marshalls will be on hand to provide directions. All runners will be required at start ten minutes before the start of the race at 10.30am.
Staggered start times
To ensure runner congestion is reduced at the point where the race route joins the Guided Busway Bridleway at Impington Station there will be three staggered start times at
10.30am – we would request that faster runners ( sub 45 minutes for 10k ) register for this start time
10.33am, 10.36am & 10.39am
Runners in each start will be allocated unique race numbers
WAVE 1 – 10.30am (Elite Runners under 45mins)
WAVE 2 – 10.33am
WAVE 3 – 10.36am
WAVE 4 – 10.39am
This is to ensure that overall runner positions across the four start times can be combined
The course
The race start is in Station Road, Histon
- proceed down Station Road, Histon to Impington Guided Busway crossing
- join the Guided Bus Bridleway from Histon & Impington Guided Busway ( GBW ) station
- pass the Orchard Park GBW turning, over the Cambridge Regional College access road and continue on Guided Bus Bridleway to Milton Road, Cambridge
- follow Milton Road path for 150 yards and then turn left in the Cambridge Science Park
- follow route through Cambridge Science Park to pedestrian gate access to Guided Busway
- turn right following road around back of Cambridge Regional College
- join Mereway Bridleway and continue to Milton Road
- follow cycle path along Milton Road back to Impington turning into Woodcock Close to join Chivers Farm track back to Recreation Ground with finishing outside Histon & Impington Recreation Ground Centre
A map of the race route will be on display at the race HQ and is provided on the race website.
A water station will be positioned at approximately half way round the race course.
Race finish
The race finish is at Histon & Impington Recreation Ground. After crossing the finish line please stay in finish order in the funnel, and collect your drink and race memento and return your timing chip..
Timing
The race as usual will have chip timing however even the best systems in the world can go wrong so our volunteers will be running the same system we have used in previous years.
The run is staffed by volunteers and, while all effort will be made to record finish times, the organising group take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately.
Please wear you race number on the front of your t-shirt or vest to make easier for your time to be noted.
Presentation of prizes
The presentation of prizes will take place at the Recreation Ground as close as possible to midday
Race results
Provisional results will be available on the Bonfire Burn website from the Sunday evening
Parking
Parking is available at Histon Football Club, Designated office car parks at the Vision Park, Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and Impington Village College.
Cars will not be allowed to park at the Recreation Ground
Changing, toilets and baggage
There are toilets for male and female runners at the race headquarters which also has a disabled toilet. There are separate male and female communal changing facilities at the Recreation Ground Centre and available on prior request
A designated manned area for the deposit of valuables and baggage will be provided in a dedicated marquee on the Recreation Ground . All baggage and valuables are left at the owner’s risk.
The race organisers will not take any responsibility for any losses or damage incurred.
Medical support
Private Ambulance Service will be on hand at the race headquarters to assist. Please note you should seek medical advice from your local GP if you are in any doubt as to your health in competing in this event. The organisers will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of a competitor’s participation in the race.
Lost children
Any child that becomes separated from their parents will be taken to the information desk at the race headquarters in the Histon & Impington Recreation Ground Centre.
Refreshments
Hot and cold drinks, bacon rolls and tuck will be available at the Recreation Ground Centre from 9.00am to 12.30am

Pictures may be used on the Friends of the Rec website & Social Media Websites, in advertising material and media write-ups

The Friends of Histon & Impington Recreation Ground values your support and promises to respect your privacy. The data we gather and hold is managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Event cancellation
If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions refunds will not be made but a 50% discount to entry will be provided to the 2017 Bonfire Burn 10k
Refunds
Registration fee is non refundable, registrations can be transferred by contacting edd.stonham@bonfireburn10k.co.uk giving full details of yourself and the new runner details.
